On the way back home from Church today we spotted an unknown bird in a pond at the end of our road. Once home, I grabbed my camera and headed back in my truck with some of our grandchildren hoping the bird was still present. He was still there and was parading around the pond while bobbing his head. After a few pics I went home, downloaded the pictures and fetched the Peterson's Guide. With a lot of help from our grandchildren we had fun figuring out the ID together for this bird.
