LACASSINE NWR BALD EAGLE
I rounded the bend heading into Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge Pool this AM, Thursday, November 29, 2012 and was stunned at what I saw. Our National Bird of the United States of America was sitting alone in a field looking around. Can you blame the other birds for not joining in? He repeatedly looked to the right, looked to the left, and looked straight ahead.

What was he doing? Was he dining on a fresh kill? Was he hanging out looking for a meal? After approximately ten minutes without leaning over to dine on a meal he set sail. The Bald Eagle headed due south and disappeared into the horizon. What a magnificent bird and a great way to start the day!
Thanks for looking, :) Tom
